In Memory of Dorothy Anne Walter

Beautiful night !

My mom had just left my house, not even a mile away, with her two little dogs, Sammy and Dollie. She had brought my 10 year old daughter home from a weekend sleep over. She called them Nina's princess weekends. She would pamper her all weekend long baking, shopping, staying up late watching movies, just an all around fun time with Mar Nar (grandmother). I had her stay for dinner that Sunday night March 5, 2006. After dinner we started a movie [Walk The Line] we turned it off half way though; we were going to watch the rest of it the next day [ to this day I can't watch that movie].I walked her to her car with the dogs as I always did.

The last thing my mom said to me was:

"Oh Laurie, isn't it a beautiful night tonight?"

Little did we know, that good-bye would be our last.That was the last time in my life, I would see my mom and best friend Alive.

MY NAME IS LAURIE WALTER-RANKINS. MY MOM, DOROTHY ANNE (ARTHUR) WALTER WAS KILLED BY DANIEL "DANNY" ESPINOZA ON MARCH 5,2006. I AM HERE TO BE A VOICE FOR MY MOM AND BEST FRIEND, "DOROTHY ANNE WALTER".

I HAVE TO DRIVE PAST WHERE DOROTHY ANNE WALTER DIED EVERYDAY . THE LOSS AND

DEVASTATION, THAT I AM FORCED TO LIVE WITH EACH DAY,DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER, I STILL CAN'T SLEEP.

DANIEL ESPINOZA HAD TOTAL DISREGARD FOR THE LAW, LIFE, AND SAFETY OF OTHERS.

EVERY TIME HE GOT IN HIS CAR TO DRIVE HE WAS BREAKING THE LAW. HE DROVE WITHOUT INSURANCE.

THIS IS NOT THE 1ST. TIME,OR 2ND OR EVEN THE 3RD, BUT THE 4TH TIME HE WAS CAUGHT EXCESSIVE SPEEDING,[ THAT I KNOW OF ] THIS TIME IT WAS 100 MILES HOUR ON A CITY STREET AND HE KILLED MY MOM " DOROTHY ANNE WALTER"

TO ME, HE IS WORSE THAN A DRUNK DRIVER, BECAUSE HE KNEW EXACTLY WHAT HE WAS DOING--BREAKING THE LAW, AND DID IT ANYWAY HE DIDN'T CARE

WHEN HE TOOK OFF FROM THE LIGHT AT BUNA VISTA ROAD (WITH HIS HEAD LIGHTS TURNED OFF) IN THE DARK,AND SPEEDING--HE WAS BREAKING THE LAW AGAIN,

DANIEL ESPINOZA'S CAR BECAME HIS WEAPON AND HE USED THAT WEAPON TO KILL, DOROTHY ANNE WALTER.

THERE HAS NEVER BEEN ANY REMORSE FROM DANIEL ESPINOZA OR HIS FAMILY FOR THE KILLING OF AN INNOCENT PERSON DOROTHY ANNE WALTER.

DANIEL ESPINOZA, HIS FAMILY, AND FRIENDS GLARED AT THE VICTIMS FAMILY EVERY TIME WE WERE IN COURT OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS.

MY MOM, DOROTHY ANNE WALTER WAS A WONDERFUL PERSON. SHE ENJOYED LIFE, HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

WE DID EVERYTHING TOGETHER. WE WERE BEST FRIENDS. THERE HAS NOT BEEN A MINUTE OF THE DAY OR NIGHT THAT I HAVEN'T BEEN THINKING ABOUT HER AND HOW MUCH WE ARE MISSING OUT ON, WITHOUT HER.

IT'S HARD TO PUT INTO WORDS THE SENSELESS KILLING OF MY MOTHER ,

ALL BECAUSE DANIEL ESPINOZA, WANTED TO RACE TWO OTHER CARS.

There is No Justice, No accountability, Why have LAWS at all.

The judge; Michael Lewis felt sorry for the Killer Espinoza, he
doesn't even have to report to probation in person. Just send a letter
each month and tell them what he is doing. He never has to come back
to Bakersfield, CA again, So…is that really Probation ?

1) KILL an Innocent Person.

2) Street Race at over 100 miles an hour [ on a city street ]

3) Driving with his Headlights Turned Off , In the dark .

4) Driving WITHOUT INSURANCE

5) This was the 4th time "killer" Espinoza was caught EXCESSIVE SPEEDING [ That I Know Of ]

There is No Justice, No accountability, Why have LAWS at all.

Probation was recommending two years in prison. The D.A. was asking for four, the family was hoping for all six years in prison for the death of their loved one.

Judge Lewis did feel sorry for Espinoza and imposed what he thought was in Espinoza's best interest, with NO REGARD to the victim or her family and the fact that Espinoza killed an innocent person.

Bottom line, Daniel "Danny"Espinoza KILLED Dorothy Anne Walter.

Slap in the faces of the victim's family; the judge Michael Lewis gave the killer five years Probation for the DEATH of Dorothy Anne Walter.

This is another sad day for the victim's family. First, the KILLING of
"Dorothy Anne Walter" by Daniel" Danny" Espinoza. Now there is
NO accountability for the killing of an Innocent Person.The family of the
killer "won," they got their way. The killer, Daniel Espinoza gets to go home to be with his family, while the family of Dorothy Anne Walter get to visit her grave.

So... if you Break the LAW, Street Race at over 100 miles an hour, drive
with your headlights turned OFF in the dark, drive a car WITHOUT INSURANCE, KILL an Innocent Person, then injure yourself in the process...you will Not be held ACCOUNTABLE in Bakersfield, CA.

Dorothy Anne "Arthur" Walter was loving, outwardly kind, and a dear friend to everyone she knew.She enjoyed sports such as swimming and tennis, winning The Kern County Women's Tennis Championship in 1957, and setting the U.S. record in swimming the medley relay with her two sisters Beverly and Betty. Dorothy swam the backstroke.She was past president of the North Bakersfield Business and Professional Women's Organization. One of Dorothy's passions, researching genealogy, revealed that she was a direct descendant of Lord Baltimore. She loved to find out as much information as she could about family history and lineage. She enjoyed helping others. Using her skills as a genealogist, she reunited people with friends from their past as well as researching the history of their families.We will miss her infectious laugh and terrific sense of humor. Not a day will go by that we won't be thinking of her and all she has done for us in her lifetime. We love you and will miss you forever.
